I grew up in South Africa, completing a traditional BA Fine Art degree with majors in Classics, Drawing, History of Art and Printmaking in 1998. I moved to London and completed a MA Printmaking from Camberwell College of Art in 2004. Printmaking is my primary medium, and my subject matter is personal and expressive. My links to Africa are the foundation of most of my work – the magic in retelling stories through my personal mythology in a world that seems to have buried and is in conflict with the archetypal and awe-inspiring truth that has haunted our existence through the ages and is dealt with in stories, folktales, myths and legends – all of which still resonate with us today.
